Big Dreams, Little Money

When Your Mind Says “Go” and Your Bank Account says “No”

As a child, I attended an upscale private school that was clearly one of the best in the area. I didn’t realize that as a kid. I also didn’t realize that students who disappeared left not because they didn’t like the school, but in more cases, they left because their parents could no longer afford the high price of the tuition.

I got these revelations as an adult, when I looked back over the decisions made by some of the parents. And what turned out to be the most striking, was not when a whole family left, but when 1 of the 2 children changed schools.

How painful that must have been for the family. Which child do the parents choose to sacrifice and what is the process? Is there a coin flipped or are the GPA’s compared and analyzed? Maybe they look at the child with the brighter future and decide to keep her in the private school.

What hard decisions parents must make when the resources are limited.

The solution? Expand your resources. What does this look like? Maybe getting a second job and spending even more quality time away from your family? Nooooo - that solution only builds thicker walls and barriers within the family group.

There is ONE TIME where your kids will be kids - ONE TIME. And you can never get it back. Don’t sacrifice your time, instead, invest your talent. Let my team of business professionals teach you how to create a staggering income from home, while increasing and expanding your personal development and computer skills.

You can step up to the plate and grow with the times or you can resist the tides of change and cling to the past. The second choice has an indelible cost to it - trading your children’s time for dollars and eking out the limited resources that you have been dealt.

                                                 The choice is yours.

If you recognize that your gifts and talents - as few or as great as they are - are but a seed for you to expand and sow into the lives of others, then we need to talk. I want to help you excel. Not make a little something on the side, but explode your financial portfolio as you know it and teach you how to catapult your business skills to untold levels.

And here is the best news - you can do it all from the comfort of your home.

Ordinary People

November 5th, 2009

Extraordinary in the Ocean of Average  I was sitting in a restaurant last week chilling out with my ½ sandwich, ½ salad combo and minding my business. But because I focus on being keen in my environment so I can share parts of my journey with you, a situation arose right next to me, one table over.

   Sitting beside me were three ladies who appeared to be family members (aunt and 2 nieces or at least a mentor type relationship). The woman in the group had labeled one of the young ladies, “ordinary“. The young girl ate in a sulking manner and finally at meal’s end, revealed that she had been greatly offended and even mis-labeled by her auntie.And of course the auntie was offended that she was offended.

And here’s the rub - she spent the rest of the time trying to convince the niece that being ordinary is not an insult.

Most people are ordinary and according to her, the young girl was just being overly sensitive.

And there I sat, the next table over, trying not to scream.

When I was younger they sold toy snakes consisting of fabric on springs, which would be stuffed inside a can. The prankster would then lure some unsuspecting victim to open the can. Of course the three foot  snake would jump 3 feet out of its home and scare the bejeebers out of the victim.

Well, that is how I felt watching this whole conversation unravel - like the aunt was intent on stuffing the niece into a can, suffocating her individuality and creativity and uniqueness.

My challenge to you is to stay as far away from ordinary as you can.You are only ordinary when you stop being authentic.

And of course the other lesson is to not let anyone steal your dreams - do not buy into their reality of who you should be.

Now there is a difference between wise counsel vs. dream stealing. And the difference is clear and it leaves clues. Here it is - one serves as a bridge to your destiny, the other, as a barrier.It would be a good exercise to evaluate the people in your circles to see where they stand relative to those two descriptions. But more importantly (because you cannot control the behavior of others), check yourself out and see if you are doing more hindering or helping, when it comes to people reaching their dreams.

I create additional income streams as a hobby - OK, it’s really a business, but I LOVE doing it, so I tend to look at it as a passion. I found early on that I was in the minority of BIG DREAMERS, Visionaries, and Out of the Box thinkers.

I quickly had to find a system that would allow me to align myself with other BIG THINKERS, otherwise I would GO CRAZY back paddling in the pool of mediocrity.

It just makes sense - being in the company of success will only expand your success that much more. Join a team of EXCELLENT professionals, surround yourself with positive visionaries, and build a thriving, exciting business that breeds success.

Plan your Work, then Work your Plan

How do eat an elephant? One bite at a time!

I have the insight to  give you this advice and I am a vegetarian - but I know that small steps are the sure way to progress. Commit to these tasks as a lifestyle and you will make GREAT STRIDES in anything you put your hand to:

     1. Write the plan down and make it plain.

This is essential because it measures your progress, giving you a track to run on as well as small victories to celebrate along the way. Your plan can be as formal or informal as you would like, depending on your best style of self-motivation. So even that is a plan - decide if it is going to be in a notebook or journal or blackberry or computer screen. The best tool to use is the one you will use.

     2.  Begin with the end in mind.

Decide from the onset to do two things:

  • Stay focused on the end goal - this will keep you motivated;
  • Enjoy the journey - relish the process, realizing that each move forward takes you farther away from the old you and closer to the new you. Be in each moment and appreciate the transformation.

      3.  Identify potential snares.

It is better to be proactive and preplan possible counter measures than to be caught off guard, especially by familiar, predictable behavior - from either yourself or others.

  • How far away is the victory?

Designate a realistic timeline for the completion of the task. Be realistic - if it is something you can perform at a leisurely pace and enjoy the journey, then identify it as such. On the other hand, it may be something that is highly demanding, requiring a short suspense and much concentrated attention. And clearly, your objective may certainly lie in the center of these two extremes. Be sure to identify the appropriate end date and the speed at which you plan on using to complete your task.

  • How do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time. Now that you’ve identified the your destination, let’s deal with the stops along the way, or sub-tasks. Break your goal down into mini goals or tasks, each connected to a more short term deadline. Think of the process as a puzzle - the picture on the box is the end goal - the sub-tasks are strategies to first find the corner pieces, and then the straight edges, to frame the picture.

You will then likely look for color patterns, shapes or themes and group them together. And you may continue on, interjecting your own unique style and priorities into the process. And so it will be likewise deciding on the layout and order of your sub-tasks.

Here are some ideas to help you identify and prioritize your action steps:

  • Consider the natural sequence of events. Knowing you can’t put the cart before the horse, what is the most logical order of tasks?
  • Which necessary resources do you presently have on hand that will help you in completing your tasks?
  • Which resources might you be lacking that you may have to buy or borrow to get the job done?
  • What actions can you take independently, i.e. you can move forward without dependence on or assistance from others?
  • What can you do to keep each task in front of you until its completion?
  • Write out each sub-task and a related check list to make sure all bases are covered.

    4.  Find a GOOD ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNER. One who will help you stretch, grow, and reach new heights. Learn to invite and even welcome constructive criticism - it will MAKE YOU BETTER, STRONGER, WISER. Start your path to success by surrounding yourself with like minds - people who want to be more, do more, have more. How do you find a SURPLUS of people like this?I’m so glad you asked!CLICK HERE and do what I do. STAY AT HOME MOMS Making a Difference in More Ways than One

I have been a stay at home mom for 17 years. Not once have I regretted my decision to put my professional career on the back burner and place my time with my children as a number one priority. As a matter of fact I have always considered myself to be the “pivot foot” in our home life. Because my schedule afforded the most flexibility, I could be relatively versatile in handling the many needs of my family. I could do everything except…..

Pay bills. All the loving and family time and hugging and kissing boo boos is great - it’s just that when our kids have desires to do and go and be (for me it started around 5 years old), making excuses for lack of financial flexibility gets old after awhile. It hit me like a tidal wave when a fellow work at home mom, who has a child with special needs told me that she found the perfect school that would allow her daughter to minimize her weaknesses and master her strengths. The only challenge was that the school tuition was $20,000 per year. Her next statement hit me like a ton of bricks. “Why shouldn’t my child, who I love so dearly, have the same opportunity for success as children of wealthy parents?”

And when it comes down to it - we ALL want and deserve the best for our children. Unfortunately the best usually comes with a steep price tag.  So….. Where does that leave us parents? Impotent? Frustrated? Hopeless? Of course not! Anyone who has the wherewithal to go through 9 months of belly stretching pregnancy, can put their mind and there hand to a super creative option to open a financial pipeline to creating streams of cash to meet many of the needs AND desires of your family. For me these things look like gas & electricity bills, car payments, a house to live in, tennis, golf, piano, scuba, swimming, art lessons - just to name a few experiences. And of course family vacations are WAY AT the TOP of this list. Just this past summer we were able to take our 3 children and our goddaughter to Europe for 3 weeks. We are building memories and exposing our kids to LOTS of experiences,  and guess what - many of them have a large price tag.

What if I could show you a way to increase your income by having weekly checks race to your mailbox, ahead of your bills? I can teach you how to transition from a Stay at Home Mom to a Work at Home Mom. Would you be interested in an excess flow of cash that puts you in a position of choosing any school your child could qualify for, without having to go hat in hand, begging for scholarship assistance? If there were a way to create more than enough wealth for your household so that you could financially bless your family and others, would you want to know more about it?

Learn how stay at home moms can have their cake and eat it too - it’s time to stop “just getting by” and living a life of martyrdom. It’s time to partner with someone who knows the ropes, who has had her kids on the side of lack and on the side of luxury - someone who can promise you that LUXURY IS ALL THAT IT’S CRACKED UP TO BE.

Contact me today to find out how I can help you afford to uncover the potentials and the possibilities planted on the inside of your children. Even if you already have a business, I can help you breath new life into it and get people to ask you on a daily basis, to sign up for your products or services.

The Doldrums of Multi-level Marketing

November 4th, 2009

Multi-level marketing is not supposed to be boring nor is it supposed to make you depressed. In many cases, that was the reason that most people JUMP ON this ship - because they want excitement, change, fun, and MONEY.  Unfortunately, multi-level marketing often ends up with a very bad rap. And that’s because 90% of the time it is taught incorrectly.

What has happened is that the same system has been taught over the last 50 years and it has become very repetitive, lacking luster, and even hum drum. It would almost be OK if at least half of the network marketing community were kicking down the doors and creating massive levels of residual income. But they are not. In fact, the majority of mlmers don’t even make enough money to pay for their own product or service from their mlm company. And if you look at the numbers, you too will figure out that a company does not necessarily need you to go out and sponsor 1,000s of distributors, for the company be DEBT FREE. Really, the company just needs to keep your monthly products/services rolling out of the plant. So maybe your company does not reach the billion dollar mark, but with 1,000s of distributors using their widgets, it is not difficult to cross the million dollar barrier. And guess what – just like with your job, you are helping a new CEO reach his (or her) goals.

I have partnered with over 10 mlm companies – and padding their pockets was NEVER my goal. I always wanted to reach my own personal goals – for me and my family. I waited patiently for years, inching toward my goals (that looks like anything in the ballpark of a commission less than 25%) and lunging toward the goals of the company (that would be the other 75%+).

                        WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

Adjust your vision folks – we can now shift the game in your favor. You are either a veteran like me – been there, done that – and it’s getting old, or you are a newbie, cozying up to all the hype and excited about what may be around the corner. Whichever category you fall into, let me encourage you to learn from my mistakes.

            Do NOT put your DREAMS ON HOLD for ONE MORE MOMENT.

These are the benefits I have learned over the last few months:

*  Seek counsel – experts and coaches who have their finger on the pulse of the industry, not just your company within the industry;

*  Position yourself as the expert – be all you can, know all you can, do all you can;

*  Become the LEADER that you are looking for – people are looking for STRONG LEADERSHIP – and when you bring more to the table, you will increase your value;

*  Brand yourself. Be the one who people turn to when they need expert advice on that thing you are good at. Have them turn to The Company because of you, not to you because of The Company.

*  Find a mentor and grow. Then become a mentor – as quickly as possible. There are thousands of people out here looking for leadership and direction. The sooner you get your act together, the better for all involved.

So, let’s start today. Right now. Click on the link below to get connected to a system that will give you step by step instructions on how to be fabulous – how to draw people into your circle because they will greatly desire your expertise and your skill set. Let’s define who you are and announce yourself to the world. And yes, you can still do this all from the comfort of your home.
